BOPA (Tibetan) Hand Made Dolls
Bopa dolls are the unique creations of Tibetan women exiled in Dharamsala, India.
Our small scale project aims to teach new skills and provide challenging employment opportunities specifically for women of the exile community. Additionally we hope to promote Tibetan identity and culture with our product.
The dolls are 35cm tall, stuffed with local sheep’s wool and dressed in traditional Tibetan clothing. Their features are individually hand embroidered, the hair can be undone and all clothes can be removed. Although designed for children to play with, as handicrafts they might not comply with CE regulations for toys.
Bopa dolls are not just gifts for the receiver, but for us making them as well.
As with all such hand made products - availability is limited and actual colours may vary slightly from those in the pictures.
