The SOHMO Go-To Scissors Large is built for exactly that. At 8″ with an 88mm cutting blade, it covers serious ground with each cut – less repositioning, more consistency, cleaner lines on long straight edges and sweeping curves.
Like every pair of Go-To scissors, the handles were custom-designed by SOHMO with purpose-built moulds – not an off-the-shelf template. The silicone grip is soft, flexible, and sized for a larger hand span, giving you the leverage and control that long-blade cutting requires without hand fatigue. The micro-serrated blade grips material as it cuts, preventing slippage and keeping your cut line true – particularly valuable when you’re working with slippery fabrics like silk, satin, or cotton lawn that tend to shift underfoot.
The large is the go-to for dressmakers, garment sewists, and quilters who cut yardage regularly. It handles woven fabrics, quilting cotton (up to 4 layers with ease), and medium-weight dressmaking fabrics confidently. Lightweight for its size, it doesn’t tire the hand the way a heavy shear can over a long cutting session.

Care: Blades and points are very sharp — keep out of reach of children. If blades become sticky (e.g. from craft glue), wipe with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly. Not dishwasher safe — blades will corrode if exposed to dishwasher detergent.
